Lake Hamilton High School JROTC held an assembly on Veterans Day. During the ceremony, Cadet Madison Cronin was promoted to the rank of Cadet Lieutenant Colonel. She will assume command of the mighty Wolf Battalion. Congratulations!

NATIONAL FINALISTS
Katee Johnson and Allie Norton, members of the Lake Hamilton FFA Chapter were recently named national finalists in the 2020 National FFA Agriscience Fair during the 93rd National FFA Convention & Expo held virtually. Katee and Allie were awarded Gold and placed 5th Overall in Social Systems Division 6. A full list of results from this event can be found here: www.ffa.org/agrisciencefair
The National FFA Agriscience Fair is a competition for FFA members who are interested in the science and technology of agriculture. It is held each year during the National FFA Convention & Expo and sponsored nationally by Cargill, John Deere and Syngenta.
FFA members compete in the national agriscience fair in one of six categories:
• Animal Systems
• Environmental Services/Natural Resource Systems
• Food Products and Processing Systems
• Plant Systems
• Power, Structural and Technical Systems
• Social Science
To qualify for the National FFA Agriscience Fair, students must be in grades seven through 12, conduct a scientific research project pertaining to the agriculture and food science industries and present their findings to a panel of judges with a display and report. All national participants are selected as the state winner at their state agriscience fairs and earn national competition eligibility after being placed in the top 10 within their respective categories.

NFL WAY TO PLAY AWARD
Lake Hamilton High School 11th grade football player, Dylan Dorton, has been recently recognized as the NFL Way to Play High School recipient for Week 8. Check out the video highlight here: https://fcm.nflpub.com/2020/WTP%20HS/HSWTP8DylanHorton59OL.mp4
The 2020 season marks the third year of NFL Way to Play, and the second of the NFL Way to Play High School Award. The NFL Way to Play was created in conjunction with NFL Legends to promote proper playing technique across all levels of football.
Through this initiative, and in partnership with Hudl, one high school player is honored each week during the regular NFL season for displaying exemplary football technique, as voted on by a distinguished panel of Troy Vincent, Jon Runyan, Roman Oben, Phil Bogle, Kevin Boothe and Jay Manahan.
As an NFL Way to Play High School Award recipient, Lake Hamilton will receive a $1,500 equipment grant through USA Football.

Weston, nominated by Mr. Johnson, is always a hard worker who helps when needed. He is a good student and an all around great person who always looks to lend a hand to anyone in need.

STATE CHAMPIONS
Congratulations to the Lake Hamilton High School boys cross country team for capturing the 5A State Cross Country Championship! Go Running Wolves!

SILVER MEDALIST
The Lake Hamilton High School Power Band of Arkansas earned the silver medal at State Marching Band contest held in Little Rock Monday, November 2.
In addition, the band earned the high music score in class 6A and earned their 5th consecutive 1st division rating at the State Marching Contest.

SPIRIT WEEK PARTICIPATION
This week has been great to see our students display their school spirit. A student who dressed up all 4 days had his/her spirit card punched for a chance to win Sonic Gift Cards. We had 74 kids dress and have their cards punched all 4 days.
The winners were Lauren Bigham, Mikaylah Cousins, Tia Mullenix, Taylor Humphreys, Anna Floyd, Alva Ramos, Jasmine Maldonado, Caelin McMillian, Cora Ashley, and Kaylyn Kugler.
A special thanks goes to Mrs. Field for making our spirit cards, and Mrs. Tedder and Mrs. Heard for coming up with the themes.

HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL RECAP
Lake Hamilton High School volleyball coach, Karen Smith, recently shared how thankful she was that her team was able to play their entire schedule this season and how proud she was of her team! The team went 10-2 in conference play, finished 2nd in the conference, and made it to the first round of the state tournament.
