GO GOLD SHIRTS
September is designated as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month to bring awareness to childhood cancer, which remains the leading cause of death by disease for children under the age of 14. This month, we pay tribute to the families, friends, professionals, and communities who lend their strength to children fighting pediatric cancer. Gold is the color worn during this month. Join the Lake Hamilton School District and #GoGold on Friday, September 25, 2020, for a special #WolfFanFriday! Special shirts are available at the Big Red Store (3544 Airport Road) for a limited time and in very limited quantities! All proceeds of the shirt sales benefit the Lake Hamilton Scholarship Activity Account.

STUDENT DIGITAL DAY TOMORROW
The first Student Digital Day of the 2020-21 school year is Friday, September 18. Onsite students will not attend school onsite this day. Instead, they will complete virtual assignments from home. Attendance will be counted based on the completion of assignments. Teachers will be onsite during Student Digital Days and will communicate specific participation expectations with students. Student Digital Day schedules and specific building-level information can be found here at this link:
https://lhsd.info/Digital-Day-September-2020. Lake Hamilton Virtual Academy students will complete a regular virtual school day on September 18.
Why are student digital days part of the school calendar this year? In the event we have to move from onsite learning to virtual learning, student digital days will serve as a training tool for students, educators, and parents. Parents and students will be able to get a glimpse of what digital delivery should look like. Another purpose of these days is continued teacher learning. Our educators will continue to learn and practice features of the Learning Management Systems (Seesaw and Canvas), as well as blended and digital management techniques.
Applications are still being accepted for internet hot spots for households within the district that do not have access to the internet at home. Applications can be found at this link (
http://lhsd.info/Hot-Spot-Application) and will be open as long as supplies last.
