Student Arrival on Campus

Parents must drop students off at the gym entrance no earlier than 7:20. Students will enter through the double doors leading to the cafeteria.  Students will be dismissed to first period at 7:45.  Once dismissed from the cafeteria, students should take care of any business they have (restroom, office, locker) on their way to their first-period class. Students will not be allowed to congregate or roam around the hallways or the restrooms.

Student Bus and Car Dismissal from Campus

Bus Dismissal: Students will remain in their 8th-period classes until dismissed to their assigned bus shift (1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th) location. Students should exit the building to the bus through the double doors in the cafeteria.

Car Dismissal: All car riders will exit to the front of the building to wait for their parent's car to circle through the line. Middle school students should not walk anywhere else to be picked up by their parents including the parking lots near the building or other schools on campus.

Student Attendance

It is extremely important for students to be in attendance each day. Absences without appropriate documentation or those exceeding the 3 allowed parent notes will be considered “unexcused.” When a student accumulates more than six (6) unexcused absences in any class period, the district will contact the parents and involve the court system in addressing the excessive absence issue If a student is absent due to a medical appointment he/she should submit documentation upon the student’s return to school in order for the absence to be marked as excused. A written statement presented or uploaded for an absence having occurred more than five (5) school days prior to its presentation or upload will not be accepted.

Student Attendance Notification System

Parents will receive an automated text notification when students are marked absent in their first or second-period classes each day. Parents will also receive letters from the school after 3 and 6 absences.

Student Checkout Procedures

Only a parent/ guardian or emergency contact who is on the checkout list of the student being checked out may checkout that student.  Please ensure your records are up to date in the front office and be prepared to provide a valid driver’s license when checking out a student.  Changes to this list may not be made over the phone.

Cell Phones

Students will be required to put cell phones, music players, cameras, earbuds/air pods, and other electronic devices that are brought to school away in their backpacks and turned off during the school day from 7:45 until 3:05. They can be disruptive to the learning environment, often create discipline problems, and are frequently lost, damaged, or stolen. Students may use the office phone in case of illness, emergencies, or school business. Students who do not adhere to these guidelines will face the corrective actions described below:

  • Cell Phone Violations:

    • First Violation- Device (s) is confiscated and placed in the office.  Students may pick them up at the end of the day.
