LHJH | POSITIVE PROPOGANDA Lake Hamilton Junior High art students were introduced to Norman Rockwell's "Rosie the Riveter" and then discussed how the piece was used as propaganda to "stomp out" hatred. Students were also introduced to artist Roy Lichtenstein and his graphic style of art that is often used in advertising and propaganda. Each art student is creating their own positive propaganda piece and then using Lichtenstein's style to bring it to life with color! #LHWolfNation

LHJH SCREENING Nurse Jaynie will be doing Vision and Hearing, BMI and Scoliosis screenings starting next week. If your child wears glasses please make sure they have them for testing. If you do not want your child to participate in BMI please send a written letter to school with your child to give to the nurse. #LHWolfNation

A DAY OF PRAYER FOR ARKANSAS STUDENTS Act 902 - An Act to Establish a Day of Prayer for Arkansas Students was passed by the 93rd General Assembly. Governor Hutchinson has declared the last Wednesday in September as “A Day of Prayer for Arkansas Students”. This year the day will be recognized on Wednesday, September 29th. Governor Hutchinson encourages all citizens of all faiths and backgrounds to voluntarily join in prayer for the success and safety of our students. FCA AND DONUTS Students had another great FCA meeting this morning with a side of donuts! Troy Phillips and Justy Smith led the devotional this morning. The Junior High FCA meetings are every Thursday morning before school in the gym. #LHWolfNation #FCA

LOCKDOWN LIFTED The Lake Hamilton School District has returned to normal operations. The lockdown has been lifted. An individual on campus was making threatening remarks and showing aggressive behavior to school staff. The Garland County Sherriff's Department and school security team immediately responded to the situation. The individual is no longer on the Lake Hamilton School District campus and is in the custody of the GCSD. #LHWolfNation

LHSD | LOCKDOWN The Lake Hamilton School District is currently under lockdown. Students and staff are remaining inside with all exterior doors locked. The Garland County Sheriffs Department and school security team are on-site and are in the process of removing the threat. The district will release more information regarding the lockdown as it becomes available. #LHWolfNation
