READING DEN BOOK RETURN Lake Hamilton Virtual Academy students and families that checked out books from the Wolf Pack Reading Den are asked to return them on one of the following dates during virtual student bulk meal pickup behind the high school cafeteria: Tuesday, December 15 (9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.) Wednesday, December 16 (4:00 - 5:00 p.m.) Thursday, December 17 (9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.) If these dates and/or times are not convenient, books may also be returned to any school office during school hours. All checked out books should be returned by December 18, 2020. The bookmobile will not be making any community stops in December. #LHWolfNation

CHRISTMAS BREAK BULK MEALS The Lake Hamilton School District will provide no-cost bulk meals for children 18 years and younger during Christmas break via drive-through pick up. In order to prepare the appropriate number of bulk meals, registration is required at this link: https://lhsd.info/Christmas-Break-Bulk-Meal-Registration Bulk meal drive through pick up will take place on Friday, December 18, and Tuesday, December 29, between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. each day. 7 breakfasts and 7 lunches will be provided for each student 18 years or younger in the household during each drive through pick up day. The registration deadline for the Christmas break bulk meals is Monday, December 14. #LHWolfNation

UPDATED QUARANTINE INFORMATION Quarantine is an important way to stop the spread of COVID-19. It means staying home and away from others after you have been exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19. With the recently updated COVID-19 quarantine guidelines by the CDC and adoption of these guidelines by the Arkansas Department of Health, the Lake Hamilton School District will follow the recommendations which allow for a shorter quarantine period for students and staff. REMEMBERING MR. GRAVES Students wrote heartfelt messages on our music teacher, Mr. Graves, classroom wall. PAINT THE TOWN MAROON & GOLD In an effort to engage community members and local businesses during this exciting week leading up to the 6A State Football Championship Game, the Lake Hamilton School District is asking everyone to "Paint the Town MAROON and GOLD!"  Community members and businesses are encouraged to create yard signs showing support for the Wolves as they look to #TakeState on Saturday at War Memorial Stadium at 6:30 p.m. Ticket information will be shared once the link is received from the Arkansas Activities Association. #LHWolfNation

POINT OF CONTACT HOURS DURING BREAK The Lake Hamilton School District (LHSD) encourages the diligent reporting of positive COVID-19 cases to our District Point of Contact (POC), even when school is closed. The LHSD POC will be available during limited times next week to take calls at 501-359-2641. It is still very important to report positive cases, and to notify close contacts so they do not spread COVID-19 during the break. The POC phone line will be closed Wednesday - Friday, November 25 - 27, 2020. The phone line will re-open on Saturday, November 28 at 10:00 a.m. for those who have had a positive COVID-19 test or have been designated as a close contact over the break. These individuals will not be able to attend school until their isolation or quarantine period is over. POC THANKSGIVING BREAK HOURS: Saturday, November 21: 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 22: 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday, November 23 and Tuesday, November 24: 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 25 - Friday, November 27: Closed Saturday, November 28: 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 29: 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. We continue to rely on cooperation from families in reporting positive cases and identifying close contacts. The better we are with our prevention strategies, the longer we will be able to keep schools open and have students attend school onsite. The Arkansas Center for Health Improvement (ACHI) strongly encourages families to forgo large family gatherings and to celebrate with household members, joining extended family by telephone, video, or other electronic means. CONGRATULATIONS, ESOL STUDENTS These LHIS students have achieved proficiency in English, as measured by the ELPA21 language assessment, and have exited from the ESOL program. The students not only scored proficient on the ELPA, but also met required levels on two other standardized tests, including the ACTAspire or NWEA. This is a great accomplishment, and we are very proud of them! #LHWolfNation

MAKEUP PICTURE DAY REMINDER Picture retakes are this Thursday, November 19! The retakes will be located at Lake Hamilton Intermediate School for virtual and onsite students who missed picture day! They will be from 8-10am! If you have a child who is virtual, it would be best to come early. #LHWolfNation

FIRST QUARTER STAR VIRTUAL STUDENTS Mrs. Cansler’s fifth-grade quad picked two virtual students as Star Students for the first quarter. Jasper Galusha and Caylee Sewesy were exceptional virtual students. They were always in our live Meets, participated and completed their work In a timely manner!
