lhhs january 25 info

Happy New Year! I hope this message finds you rested and ready for a fantastic second semester at Lake Hamilton High School. As we dive into the new year, I want to thank you for your continued support in helping your child succeed.

As we begin this semester, report cards will go home the week we return to school. Please review your student’s progress carefully. Some students may have to have changes to his/her schedule, as adjustments have been made to ensure they are on track to recover any necessary credits and meet graduation requirements. If you have questions about your student’s schedule, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the counseling office.

Additionally, please note that there will be no school on Monday, January 20th, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr Day and professional development for teachers.

I would also like to invite all parents and guardians of seniors to a special Senior Parent Meeting on Friday, January 24th, at 8:15 a.m. in the arena. This meeting is an excellent opportunity to receive important details, deadlines and dates about your student’s final semester of high school. From graduation logistics to senior activities, we’ll cover everything you need to know to make this milestone memorable. Your attendance is highly encouraged!

For our Junior and Sophomore students, we will soon begin exploring scheduling options and opportunities for the 2025–2026 school year. Over the next few weeks, students will receive important information about course options, graduation requirements, and pathways to help guide their choices. Scheduling conferences are set for Tuesday, March 18th, and more details will be shared as we get closer. Please note that all students must complete their Student Success Plan for the current school year before they can finalize their schedule for the next school year.  Parents will sign off on their child’s SSP at his/her scheduling conference.

Last thing to remember is that this semester students do have the ability to be exempt from the spring semester test.  This is based on his/her 2nd semester grade and attendance based on the whole school year.  The complete details are listed in the student handbook.

As always, please feel free to reach out to our office with any questions or concerns. Let’s work together to make this semester successful and rewarding for all of our students.
