Lake Hamilton New Horizons has received a $26,306.10 grant from JAG (Jobs for Arkansas Graduates). This grant is part of the federally funded and endorsed JAG system, Jobs for American Graduates. JAG is a state-based national non-profit organization dedicated to supporting young people of great promise. JAG helps young people of truly great purpose succeed both in school and on the job, leading to a productive and rewarding career.
At Lake Hamilton New Horizons, the JAG program and class will focus on career and technology to prepare students for their future. The grant will be used to purchase equipment that will expose and train students on the various occupations available after high school. The following industries will be a focus for the JAG class this year using equipment purchased through the grant:
- Industrial: 3D Printer, CNC, Laser Combo with 3D Scanner
- Service: Tabletop Cook Equipment, Freezer, Fridge, Utensils, Table Linens, Table Settings
- Construction: Four 12 Tool Sets of Lithium Ion Battery Powered Tools, Measuring Tools, Non-Powered Hand Tools
- Landscaping: Landscaping Tools, Wagons, Portable Greenhouse, Storage Shed
