The Lake Hamilton School District Tornado Safe Room is located at the Primary School, 136 Oakbrook Street, Pearcy, AR. This facility plays a crucial role in our emergency preparedness plan. Please review and follow these guidelines during a tornado warning:
Activation: The Safe Room doors will be remotely unlocked by the sheriff's department when a tornado warning is issued.
Priority: During school hours, students and staff have priority for Safe Room occupancy. Community members will only be admitted once all students have been safely sheltered.
Public Access: The Safe Room is open to the public only while a tornado warning is active and must be evacuated immediately once the warning is lifted.
Pet Policy: Pets are not allowed unless they are contained in an owner-provided, airline-approved carrier.
Food and Beverage: No food or drinks are permitted in the Safe Room.
Smoking: Smoking or the use of tobacco products is prohibited in the Safe Room and on all school property, in accordance with Arkansas law.
Electronic Devices: Personal mobile devices, including radios, smartphones, and tablets, may be used only with individual earphones.
Door Protocol: Safe Room doors must remain closed at all times.
