Each year, the Lake Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame Selection Committee chooses a group of exemplary past athletes, coaches, or athletic contributors for induction into the Lake Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame. Five individuals were inducted into the Lake Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame on Friday, August 25, 2023: Todd Aitken, Steve Anderson, James Johnson, Clint Reed, and Amy Teague. Read below for their bios:
Todd Aitken
Todd is a 1993 Lake Hamilton High School graduate. While at Lake Hamilton, he played football and track and field. Todd received the following awards and accolades: 1991 All-Conference, 1992 All-Conference, All-State, and All-Arkansas Super Team, 1993 All-Star Football Game, and the 1993 MVP for the All-Star Football Game. He was a member of the undefeated 1992 Lake Hamilton state championship football team. Following high school, Todd played football at Arkansas Tech University from 1993 until 1996 where he was named an All-Gulf South Player in 1995 and 1996. He ended his college football career at the National All-Star Game in Texas. Todd is married to Nikki Aitken, a proud dad of Utah, Mason, and Daylee, and a proud BAM to Kipton. He works at Pafford Emergency Services as an Operations Manager in Faulkner County.
Steve Anderson
Steve is a former coach and administrator in the Lake Hamilton School District, retiring in 2019. Steve coached football, basketball, and baseball while at Lake Hamilton and was on the coaching staff of the 1992 undefeated state football championship team. He was the longest-serving superintendent in Lake Hamilton's history. While serving as superintendent, Steve was also a member of the Arkansas Activities Association Board of Directors. One of his most memorable moments was leading the successful negotiations to renew the annual Lake Hamilton vs. Lakeside football series. He is married to Rhonda Bardwell Anderson, a 1984 Lake Hamilton graduate, and proud father of Cameron Anderson, a 2012 Lake Hamilton graduate. He is currently the Director of School Safety and Security for Strategos International.James Johnson
James is a 2001 graduate of Lake Hamilton where he played football, basketball, and track and field. While at Lake Hamilton, he lettered in each sport and received All-County, All-Conference, and All-State Football, Lake Hamilton Tri-Athlete Award, Conference, State, and Meet of Champ Champions in the discus. The Sentinel-Record Top 5 Garland County Male Athletes, Arkansas Track Coaches Association Hall of Fame All Arkansas team, and set a single season sack record (15) in 1999. After high school, he received a full scholarship to play for the Razorbacks at the University of Arkansas. While at Arkansas, he was All-SEC Academic Honor Roll, Lon Farrell Academic Award, Football Letterman, and had the opportunity to play in the 2002 SEC Championship Game, Cotton Bowl, Music City Bowl, and Independence Bowl. James is married to Kortney Johnson and is the proud father of Ryleigh and Reagan. He serves as the president of the Kendrick Fincher Hydration for Life Board of Directors and the vice president of the A-Club Board of Directors for the University of Arkansas.Clint Reed
Clint is a 1995 graduate of Lake Hamilton where he played basketball for the Wolves. While at Lake Hamilton, Clint was a three-year letterman and starter and received All-Conference, All-State, and was the nominee for the McDonald's All-American Team. During his senior year, Clint led the Wolves in scoring with twenty-three plus points per game and a 90% free throw average. He led the Wolves to state tournament appearances each year of high school. Clint was recruited by multiple DI and DII programs throughout high school, but in the end chose to attend and play basketball for Lyon College in Batesville. Following his college basketball career, Clint was named a member of the Lyon College Basketball Hall of Fame.
Amy Teague
Amy is a 1994 graduate of Lake Hamilton and a current coach at Lake Hamilton High School. She was a multi-sport athlete at Lake Hamilton, participating in volleyball, basketball, softball, and track and field. As an athlete for the Wolves, Amy was selected to the West All-Star Basketball Team, named to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette All-Arkansas Basketball Team, All-State Basketball, All-State Track, and a member of the very first softball team at Lake Hamilton. After high school, Amy received a scholarship to play basketball at Ouachita Baptist University where she received All-Lone Star Conference Honors and was named the Ouachita Woman's Basketball Player of the Year in 1998. As a coach at Lake Hamilton, Amy has won the State Softball Championship three times (2007, 2009, and 2012), State Softball Runner-Up (2003), Softball Conference Champions (2004-2009), and was named the AAA West All-Star Softball Coach of the Year eight times. Her 2008 softball team at Lake Hamilton was ranked #23 in the nation by USA Today. As the junior high basketball coach, her teams were back-to-back-to-back Central Arkansas Junior High Conference Champions. Amy is a science teacher at Lake Hamilton High School and is the head high school softball coach and assistant junior high volleyball coach.
